Love this place they have the best salads in town and even the armadillo showed up! Although it's very noisy and not a place to take your loved one for a romantic evening, may I suggest Ruth's Chriss for that, it is a wonderful atmosphere even with the noise. Kids love it and the food is awesome. My husband and I split a meal so 2 people eat for less than $20 and that's really good. It's the only time I eat my veggies because I love the salad lol, and that makes Mark happy.

Every time I come here, I order the steak and it is always overcooked. I haven't been back in months and decided to give it one more try. Sure enough, overcooked steak. I order the steak medium rare and it comes over past well done. The worst part is the managers are never sympathetic and act like its a burden that their cook messed up. This will DEFINITELY be my last time coming to this place.

I have been to this location multiple times and always find it very loud. I would expect it to be loud if there were a lot of RV's but they actually only have a couple. If you want any type of conversation this definitely is not the place for it. The food is decent. The deal is cooked as requested but doesn't have a lot of flavor. I would love an option of seasoning rather than just steak sauce after its cooked. I hate covering up meat with sauce. The dinners seem a bit over priced for me. They give peanuts while you wait and the expectation is that you can throw the shells on the ground so that is great for kids. The service has been a little sub par the last few times I have gone I have had different waitresses and none to seem "on the ball". I really think they have either too many tables or not enough waitstaff. This isn't the fault of the waitstaff but it does mean you may not be checked on very often. Overall I will go if a friend wants to but it is not my first choice to go to.

I had a wonderful meal and we had fantastic service our waitress was really great! I had the 8 oz sirloin with steak fries and the house salad and two helpings of their delicious hot rolls that they bring to the table...all delicious! also the waitress was so good she kept our drinks filled and was checking to make sure we didn't need anything many times I will definitely be back!

It's good. A standard steakhouse with a lot of options.Service is always quick and the foods always pretty good

Early diner menu is a winner. Chicken fried chicken is moist and flavorful. Patron Killers are for the non drivers only!! For birthdays they sing and give a dessert! Remember to take your bags of free peanuts home!!

Although I still prefer my steaks at home every once in awhile you have to go out and adventure society. This place is great a collection of different people from all around the community gathering to eat the food is ok not the greatest but I would have to tell you that the wait staff here and the bartenders are probably the friendliest people I've seen in quite a while keep up the good work I'll be back again soon

The food is so terrible... I don't get it. Our waitress was so jacked up on something that she kept forgetting things. The food is so low quality and I should known better. That was the last time.

The steak was great. I have never been disappointed. The cactus blossom was good also. The waitress was very good. Great place to have dinner.

The food was just average. Nothing to get excited about. Although their version of the bloomin onion was very tasty. The service was great though. Our waitress was very attentive & we were consistently asked if everything was great by different staff members.

Always happy dining in, but take out the steak can be tasteless or overcooked

Good staple for the OP area. This resturaunt has been here for years so they must be doing something right. We came with a group of 10 for my dads birthday, i used the call ahead seating which was ok, but still waited about 30 minutes after we got there. Was told by my love that thats how it is... Ok ok... Sorry, im just impatient sometimes. We were seated and the waitress was quick to get our drink orders. She got it right the first time and was prompt at retrieving them. I ordered the Roadkill which is hamburger steak with melted cheese, onions and mushrooms. My sides were steak fries and green beans. All were cooked perfectly medium rare, hot and fresh. The steak fries were awesome. Loved the seasoning. My dear got the 6oz sirloin. I actually anticipated it to be tough. But it was so tender and also cooked perfect at medium rare. Her loaded sweet potatoe was like a desert. Sweet! The noise level here is a little high but thats ok. Service was above average.

Holy cow!! This place is always busy and have not been here since a few years ago but will definitely be coming back. This place runs like a well oiled machine, the service is great, food is delicious and priced right!! Our waitress, Morgan, was amazing!!! Everything was perfect thanks to her. It kind of felt like we were in the twilight zone because of how perfect everything was running, a lot of restaurants can learn a lesson by the way this place is ran!

  • Trey G.

Wow, have been here over an hour... There was no line n waited over thirty minutes. Then once we did get seated was had this cheesy @$$ waiter, who couldn't get my co workers orders right, like making a sexist comment when he said he would refill our roll basket to even blaming the cook on an overdone $25 steak. I'm glad I don't live around here, because this was a crap service, "ok" Texas food at its finest.

Our favorite place for steak. Call ahead seating helps shorten the wait time. Great steaks & sides, servers always friendly & helpful. Prices better than Outback & Longhorn.

One of THE BUSIEST restaurants in Orange Park, aka chain restaurant wasteland. I can't tell you how many times I've eaten here. Before moving to the Southside, OP was my turf and my family loves coming here, whether for an enjoyable family dinner or celebrating minor special occasions. The food is consistent. My faves are the Chicken Critters and grilled shrimp entrées. The Chicken Critters are literally the best dang chicken fingers/tenders I've ever eaten. They're just fried chicken tenderloins, sure, but the batter rather than breading has the most perfect seasoning blend. When they come out, they have these little crispy spikes all over them like some sort of abstract art. The meat is tender and juicy. Sometimes they come out over cooked, but usually the staff don't mind having a new order made for me... depending on how willing I am to wait for some grub :p My parents LOVE the prime rib. That's the reason they eat at T-Ro. When the plates are brought out, my jaw drops at how massive the cuts of meat are, even if you get the smallest ounce option. This is only sold on the weekends, though. Other food highlights: delicious, hearty chili and of course... the ROLLS. They're super fluffy and served fresh, fresh, fresh... with cinnamon butter! Good golly, they're tasty. However, as another reviewer mentioned, they could come out not cooked properly, either under or overcooked. And their salads are awesome! Super fresh, with AMAZING housemade dressings. I think they have the best Ranch dressing I've tasted to date (no Hidden Valley for this girl). Service... It's usually pretty good, with misses here or there, whether they're busy or not. And I hate to say it but Texas Roadhouse is affectionately referred to as "Texas Whorehouse" throughout OP because of the Daisy Duke-clad, overly-facepainted girls who comprise the majority of the hostess/serving staff. If you don't like country music... RUN far, far away. Lol

  • Stephen S.

So the ONLY reason I don't give 5 stars for this was because the music was a little on the loud side, and the chairs are school desk uncomfortable. Maybe we were sitting under a speaker, yes, but when the server has trouble hearing you, there's an issue. Since it was my birthday, and I am more carnivore than omnivore, I sprang for the porterhouse, medium doneness. THAT was a beautifully prepared delight. I had asked for steak sauce in preparation for the "usual" fare, but never even touched it. It was seasoned and done to perfection. The Caesar salad was crisp and well fashioned, and the loaded baked potato was good, too. All of this topped off with the "it's your birthday, yeehaw" and a scoop I vanilla ice cream. Very good experience, overall. Definitely WILL be back, once we all get paid again.

The best steak for the best price in all of NE Florida.

Delicious! Food was amazing and appetizers came out instantly. The only reason they didn't eat 5 stars, the entree took over an hour to come out after ordering. We were there on a Sunday night and they were very busy but an hour is just a bit too long... Great food and great service and I will definitely be back!

My wife and I came to Texas Roadhouse on Sunday (11/16) and the very first thing we noticed were 6-8 people in the back smoking. My wife's first comments were "Are they going to be cooking our food?" (I hope they washed their hands!!). Its not the first thing you want to see when going somewhere to eat!! We worked our way in and we both ordered the Country Fried Steak with white gravy and corn and masked potatoes. The CFS came out and both were swollen and the center of the CFS arched up towards the ceiling. We did not experience this last time we ordered this and it looked normal. We cut into the CFS and is was overcooked. My wife's had grilse (which it didn't have last time). Potatoes were good and so was the corn. My question who does the Quality Control before CFS goes out to guests? Very disappointed to say the least.

I hate this phrase, but alas.... it is what it is. Loud, mediocre food, loud, uncomfortable, overpriced, etc. I had been here before, so I knew what to expect. I was Jonesing for some ribs, and depending on your view, this may or may not be the place for ribs. When they say they are "falling off the bone" they're not lying. Not the way I like to eat ribs. Hell they dont even serve them with sauce, you have to ask for it. What? Not the place to watch a ballgame either, even though they have TVs spotted all around, there's only one over the bar, and the bartender didn't know if they have the NFL ticket/SEC Network. Also hanging over the bar are racks of dirty glasses, I suspect victims of that 3 step bartender plunge behind the bar. Not very appetizing to see these glasses come out of a quick rinse and then back into the cooler or hung upside down with lipstick and muck still clinging to the sides. I became semi-proficient at closing my eyes when I took a swig of my beer so I wouldn't have to look at those dirty glasses hanging over my head. And they dont even know how to make a proper margarita here. Hello, pouring tequila and sweet n' sour into a glass and sticking a straw into it don't make it a margarita! Just a lot of problems here, including the fact that the salad lettuce has been soaking in the bleach solution for too long and the bartender broke 3 glasses in the 60 minutes I was there. Pretty unnerving actually. Not a bad place to celebrate a birthday I suppose, cause nobody cares how rowdy you get, and the wait staff will come sing to you. Woohoo! (somebody please kill this silly practice) On the plus side, the peanuts are free and they serve you dinner rolls with a drink, so if you're on a budget, or homeless, this is the place for you. BTW, they don't even have Wifi, and I could barely catch a signal here.

Decided to come here for date night, as we had a taste for steak. This place never disappoints. Our steaks were juicy and tasty I had the ceasar salad and loaded potato wedges. For my drink I had a sangria which was good and potent as well. Sat and talked fun date night as always.

Sorry, but this place lacks anything unique. The service: I thought it was good. Nothing earth shattering but certainly acceptable. The food: Maybe I'm just too much into good local food now, but this place has ordinary food, not exceptional or unique. food If you just want to eat, I'd say go here. If you want an experience I'd try one of many new places in Jacksonville that seek to make ordinary food extraordinary.

Food was great. Boneless chops, baked potato, corn. Server was Nicole. She was not too fiendly. She did not seem like she was enjoying herself. I tried by being silly and joking around with her. But, she had a serious kind of personality

  • Trever P.

I'll be honest everytime I go here this place is busy busy busy the waiters are always nice and I'll definitely say they're really attractive so that's nice. Okay let's get on with the food I've had the chicken Caesar salad. And it was really really delicious. And I've had their chicken sandwich that was really good. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants a good meal. This is a kind of place that you could take a first date. It is loud inside but that's just because it's a very busy place. I do recommend it. So if you're in the mood for some good wholesome food. I would definitely check them out.

  • Ash W.

before I ramble on about how awesome this place is, I use their app (yes, they have one) to make a reservation so I don't have to wait as long as everyone else does. in fact, last time I used it, I was seated in less than 5 minutes!! WOO! now, to start off, the bread rolls they give you with cinnamon butter are really good. when me & my dad go (that's usually all our party consists of), we order 2 baskets of bread (1 per person) w/ extra butter, so no appetizers for us. the sweet tea here is the best. now, being from the South, we drink a lot of tea & we like it sweet, but this one is not too sweet, so it's perfect. every single time I go, my order is always the same (shocker, right?) & it hasn't changed & I don't think it will. anyways, I order the 12oz NY strip, medium (I like it to have some pink & also some tenderness in my meat. there's a bit of gristle, but it's not tough enough to where I look like a wild dog trying to tear into it cuz it's so tough) with a side salad (no tomatoes, ranch) & a fully loaded sweet potato (it has a sort of cinnamon-honey sauce & topped with mini marshmallows that melt when the potato cooks) the mall isn't too far from here so after I leave, I sometimes go to just pass time till it closes, but the rest of the time I can't because we usually have a dinner to go for my grandma so we have to go straight home. alright, I hope all my rambling has proved my point as to how amazing this place is, so if you're in the Orange Park area, go check it out

I loved roadhouse back home but this one was not as impressive. The rolls had no butter in them and a crap ton of flour. My ribeye was overly fatty and my baked potato was even over cooked. Now the steak was cooked well jus must have found a cow that's fat like me. Our waitress was sweet too.

  • Stan M.

I have taken my family here to eat several times. We have all had a great meal everytime. The babyback ribs are fall off the bone tender. The steaks and chicken dinners are good also. A great place to go to get full. Wait staff could be a little more friendly. Restaurant is a little dark and very noisy. But the food is worth it!

My parents (retired) and I enjoy coming to the location in Orange Park, FL about 2-3 times a month. My parents really like the bread/rolls and the steak. The past few visits according to my parents have been odd. They typically order the same item and the bill always come out the same, but they noticed a few discrepancies in the last few visits in which they informed me of today. The problem appears to be that my father ordered only one beer, but was charged for two. When he picks up the tab, he always pays using cash. During today's meal, I viewed the receipt and noticed he was double charged for a beer. I brought it to the server's attention, but she reacted as if she was caught and did not make an issue of it without offering an apology. I wanted to address the issue right then and there, but the parents didn't want to ruin the enjoyable meal asides from the odd reaction and service regarding the bill. I called the store when I arrived home and spoke with the location's manager and explained the situation. The store manager reacted in a highly defensive manner to put it mildly and started rattling off a variety of statements about integrity, etc. I said my piece and the conversation ended. The food is enjoyable 99% of the time, but the service is hit & miss due to the high turnover rate and the penchant for this location is hiring inept adolescence staff on a recurring basis in my opinion. I believe the family is best suited to find an alternative going forward. The one star if for the service and the manager's defensive reaction as if his location could do no wrong.

This restaurant has fantastic steaks that are always so tender and juicy. The sides are mostly OK, but I wish the servers were better trained. I asked the server at our table for olive oil and vinegar for my side salad and got canola oil and vinegar instead. I'm following the Paleo diet and canola oil is a no-no. It would have been OK if they didn't have olive oil and just told me, but they didn't, so I assumed that she either didn't hear me or ignored my request. I ended up using the vinegar and salt/pepper and it was great. Another thing that needs to change is the noise level. The restaurant always has LOUD music playing which makes conversation difficult. We usually come here with our family after Church and this is the only time we have to catch up. The last time we were there, we were seated in a room off to the side and there were multiple families with noisy individuals. We were also interrupted by the busboy cleaning the table as he threw (I'm serious; he THREW them in there) glasses and plates into his cleaning bin. If they'd turn the music down, I'm sure the noise level would be much better.

nine out of ten times you will leave happy. the wait is what kills you half the time. younger wait staff and good baby back ribs.

Love it! Always packed and a variety of scrumptious options to enjoy. Great steak portions that are fairly priced. Complimentary bread with a sweet butter and barrel loads of peanuts are great ways to start, but they still have great appetizer options; can never go wrong with the onion blossoms...

Had dinner on a Sunday night, we were seated right away. The food was great, husband had a steak which was very good. I had chicken not as good as I expected. We had fried pickles and potatoes slices for an appetizer, both very delicious.

The yeast rolls that accompany you to the table as you are seated are sometimes (most of the time) too done and the butter has cinnamon in it (I'm not a fan of cinnamon). They usually give you 4 rolls and one tiny ball of butter for everyone. You will never go wrong ordering the SWEET TEA, best in the area. Sorry, no Dr. Pibb. I've been a fan of the Texas Roadhouse for years. They really know how to grill a steak to perfection, and to order. I can honestly say I've had EVERYTHING on the menu and don't regret any of it. My favorite of course at a steakhouse would be the steak, the sirloin, to be exact. I also have found favorites in the catfish, prime rib, ribs, rotisserie chicken, grilled chicken, pork chops, chicken tenders, chili. . . Aw, hell its all G-O-O-D. ooo, ooo, ooo, i almost forgot, the chicken fried steak bigger then the plate smothered in cream white gravy (I LOVE GRAVY!!). ALL of the side are GREAT, you really can't go wrong with any choice you make and the house salad and ranch dressing is crisp and fresh. I don't have a favorite because they are all so tasty. Mashed potatoes, steak fries, steamed veggies, loaded baked potato, sweet potato, mushrooms, and don't forget the green beans with more bacon and seasonings than grandma's. YUMMY

There is not a bad thing I can say about this restaurant. The food is fantastic, the waitresses are friendly, and overall, the entire place gives off a very friendly atmosphere. Sure, the place may have a little wait time, but that's only because everyone else agrees that Texas Roadhouse is the way to go!

Lunch at Texas Roadhouse is a rare treat for wife and me and it was well worth the wait. Our lunch consisted of BBQ chicken, ribs and the 'roadkill' which is chopped steak topped with grilled onions, mushrooms and swiss cheese. All very good. The accompanying dinner rolls were served hot and were excellent as were the tableside peanuts served in a bucket. The iced tea was freshly brewed and refills were plentiful. Prices are reasonable, service is friendly and efficient and the food is a cut above. The Texas Roadhouse is about a 35 minute drive for us and well worth the time, effort and (automotive) gas!

I was a little concerned about waiting because of the previous reviews, but we were seated right away. It wasn't because they were dead either. It was pretty crowded in there, but there was an order to the chaos in there. The rolls came with cinnamon butter were delicious. My kids had the cheeseburger sliders with fries. My son ate every bit of it! He even snagged one from his sister. (She doesn't eat as much and concentrated more on fries.) The fries were perfectly seasoned and crisp. I ordered the filet medallions, medium rare. Wow, it was cooked perfectly. At first, I thought they weren't seasoned enough, but then *facepalm I realized it came with the mushroom and sauce. Complimented each other perfected. I don't like the grain of rice they use. I'm extremely picky with rice, so don't let that run you off. I love the green beans-- with bacon and onions. The sweet potato with cinnamon butter was so naturally sweet by itself and baked just the way I like it. This one is much better than the one I went to in Pcola. The waitress was wonderful. She showed up to check on us, but not too much. She was prompt and never forgot anything we asked for. I encourage my kids to politely ask for refills or ketchup, things like that, she treated them like adults or push them to the backburner.
